Summary of testing guidance for blood born viruses/hepatitis C

• Individuals who received a blood transfusion prior to September 1991 and have not been previously tested for bloodborne viruses should consider getting tested.
• Public Health Wales offers a free and confidential test for Hepatitis C and HIV.
• Since 1991, all blood donors are screened for bloodborne viruses, and all blood is tested before being sent to hospitals.
