This is the 291 page RCGP Curriculum Guide covering

Professional Topic Guides: These cover essential areas related to being a general practitioner, including professional skills, ethics, and communication.

Life Stages Topic Guides: These focus on various life stages, such as pediatrics, adolescence, and geriatrics, providing insights into managing patients at different points in their lives.

Clinical Topic Guides: These delve into specific clinical areas, including allergy and immunology, cardiovascular health, dermatology, and more. Each guide illustrates key learning points with case scenarios, reflective questions, and advice for learning and teaching.

This latest version is up to date as of 15/05/2023

These guides below, although quite hefty, are really useful reading.

They are conveniently structured into

1) The GP’s role in that particular topic, e.g. dermatology

2) Emerging issues in that topic field

3) The knowledge and skills guide to help direct on the things like the signs and symptoms you should understand, what are the common and important conditions to know about, the examinations and procedures relevant to that topic, investigations you might carry out and ‘service’ issues or practicalities about that field.

4) Case discussions – the type of questions to help reflect and learn on your experience of this topic

5) How to learn this area – this is really useful as it’ll suggest how to get the most out of this topic whilst you’re in work and what you might find useful for your SDL (self directed learning)

6) Finally, they have a section for how this might get tested in either AKT (the ‘written’ exam), The SCA (noted there are CSA but times have changed to RCA and now SCA) and work place based assessments.
